While the kids were down for a afternoon nap yesterday I slipped out to Boulder City, Nevada to view the final stage of the 2012 LeadmanTri Epic 125 put on by Lifetime. Having done part of the course myself, I knew this race would challenge any athlete but I don’t think many racers expected the gusty 38 mph afternoon headwind that affected the later bike and run legs of the event. I didn’t envy the racers as they ran the 1200+ foot climb on River Mountain Trail to the finish line. Kuddos to all the finishers and to our winners Maik Twelsiek and Angela Naeth.
